The Vancouver Section today announced the postponement of the AGM & Gala, originally scheduled for March 28th.

Dear Members and Friends of the Vancouver Section:

The recent events around the global spreading of the coronavirus have forced us to postpone our Annual AGM & Gala event.  Local regulations in the lower mainland now only allow for group gatherings of 50 people or less.

IEEE Canada have also suggested that large events be done via teleconference or be postponed.

As such, the March 28th AGM date has now been cancelled, and the event will be rescheduled to a future date.

The new date will be announced, and we anticipate that the AGM & Gala will be held some time in late May.

The AGM & Gala event will be announced on the Vancouver Section website, the Vancouver Section e-newsletter, our social media channels, and re-posted on the IEEE Vtools Events site, under the new date.

For those who have registered for the March 28th event, we plan to carry forward your registration, and apply it to the event on the new date.  If you cannot attend on the newly announced AGM date, a full refund will be issued.

We apologize if this has change has inconvenienced you, but these are circumstances that are well beyond our control. I am sure this is the right decision as we must ensure everyone’s health and safety which includes the general public.
