 Selyn Chen was a former researcher in National Institute of Education, Singapore (NIE). She researched on Metacognition under Dr. Lee Ngan Hoe in the department of Mathematics and Mathematical Education (MME). Their research topic was on Metacognition (a form of higher thinking). She has a very diverse work experience ranging from leadership, event management, community engagement, consultant, educational and psychological research, project management, entrepreneurship, innovation labs, engineering, and coaching. She is a person who loves to learn and share her knowledge. Selyn believes that the basis of real living is constant learning and sharing knowledge in helping others. She is also passionate on neuroscience, design thinking, human behavior, psychology, design, technology, engineering, innovation and community investment. Currently, she is working on a new project, developing a model integrating design thinking and metacognition. | Vice Chair – Cecilia Garcia Marra (ceciliagarciamarra at ieee.org) |
 Cecilia Garcia Marra received her degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, through a comprehensive 6-year curriculum. Her thesis was on Quality Risk Management. During this time, Cecilia was an active member of the Students Commission of Chemical Engineering and acted as a representative at the Chemical Engineering Advisory Council. Additionally, she was part of the Tutoring Program for freshman students and worked as an Adjunct Instructor at UBA.Cecilia is an experienced Process Engineer and Consultant in the Water Treatment Industry, having worked in Canada and abroad. Currently, she works as a Project Engineer for McCue Engineering Contractors, a Vancouver-based engineering and construction company that specializes in water treatment. She speaks 4 languages and is passionate about bringing communities together through improved communication. Cecilia has been volunteering for different organizations during the last several years and has been dedicating her efforts to IEEE WiE for about a year.
