Invited Talk: Fabrication, Actuation, and Control of Sensor-Equipped Microrobots
November 11, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The recent advances in the nanofabrication and 3D printing technology offers robotic solutions at exceeding small scales. Microscale robots, equipped with multiple sensors and mechanical add-ons find application in various fields such as exploration of inaccessible areas, search and rescue, and most importantly inside the body. In this talk, I will review some of the recent advances in the field of micro robotics for biomedical applications. I will present my group’s recent efforts on the fabrication, actuation and 2D/3D control vibration-driven and magnetically-powered microrobots for surgical and drug delivery applications. Furthermore, I will present some of our recent results on the application of micro-swimming robots equipped with MEMS sensors for underwater exploration of the icy moons of the planet.
