About the Series

This presentation series will be of interest to the engineering community, energy providers, governments and regulators, nuclear reactor manufacturers,  and other design engineering firms seeking to develop applications for these new energy sources.

Members of the technical community and the public at large will  learn about the characteristics of the new emerging nuclear technologies from experts in the nuclear and energy domains.

To address climate change and mitigate the growing energy supply crisis, the world is increasingly turning to nuclear energy as a key solution. At IEEE, we are committed to informing as many people as possible about the nature of nuclear energy — including discussions on technology, safety, reliability, and environmental impact – and addressing the widespread misconceptions and misinformation that have persisted for decades.

Our first series, consisting of nine talks and a film screening, will explore various critical aspects of nuclear energy. Each session will feature renowned experts and respected scholars in the field, providing valuable insights into the role of nuclear power in our energy future.

We hope you find these talks engaging and informative. Looking ahead, we are eager to organize a second series to further expand on the topics covered in this initial round.

Where possible we will include panel discussions to bring forth the views of a variety of experts and viewpoints.  In addition the presentations will provide an opportunity for questions and interactive discussions involving panelists and our attendees.

We look forward to bringing together a broad audience from various constituencies, holding differing viewpoint and perspectives.   As we work to provide information and inform the general public, we hope to bring issues up for discussion and to make progress toward a broad consensus regarding clean energy and nuclear technology.

We are interested in extending invitations to various audiences and stakeholders, and gaining their active participation.  This series of presentations and any follow up meetings or symposia will not be biased or reflect the interests and concerns of only one interest group.  It will be consistent with the IEEE’s mission to promote and encourage technology for humanity.
