2022 Summer Social Event a Success

Vancouver Section Social Event – Aug. 20th, 2022

The IEEE Vancouver Section held an informal gathering at Central Park in Burnaby on August 20. More than 40 attendees came together to socialize and network in the first face to face section event in over two years! It was a great chance for many in the section to reconnect, as well as a first opportunity for newer members to connect for the first time.

Additionally, the chair gave a brief message about the value of social connections in delivering value to humanity and society as engineers, and how it is so good to see so many members joining for the event today to forge strong connections within the section.

Vancouver Section Chair, Matthew Wilder, providing a brief message to attendees

It was refreshing to see our members together again, so much so that many stayed even after the event was officially over. The section executives are happy that the event was a success, and they look forward to hosting more face-to-face events in the future, beginning with IEEE Day, on October 4.
