VANCOUVER SECTION AGM 2022

The IEEE Vancouver Section Annual General Meeting was held on March 30, 2022 via virtual meeting facilities.

31 members and friends of the Vancouver Section were in attendance as Section Chair Matthew Wilder began the meeting with an acknowledgement of the meeting being held on First Nations unceded land.

Mr. Rob Anderson, President of IEEE Canada, addressed the attendees, and delivered a message of encouragement and support for the Vancouver Section.

The Section Chair Matthew Wilder presented a summary of the Vancouver Section activities in 2021.  Section Vice Chair Jacqueline Nichols presented the Treasurer’s report.

The Section Chair then provided a preview of upcoming Section activities and priorities for 2022.  Included in the list  is the upcoming commemoration of an IEEE Milestone, for the achievement of the TransCanada Microwave System (1958). This will be celebrated on July 1 (details to be announced).

The Section Chair, on behalf of the Section Scholarship Committee, then announced the winners of the Vancouver Section Scholarships (see separate News posting and AGM 2022 writeup).

The Section Chair announced the recipients of the Vancouver Section Awards.
