IEEE Vancouver Section Annual General Meeting ReportThe IEEE Vancouver Section Annual General Meeting was held on March 30. IEEE Canada President Rob Anderson provided a keynote speech to attendees, sharing IEEE Canada’s priorities for our region as we come out of the pandemic. Section Chair Matthew Wilder announced the winners of various Section awards for excellence in volunteer service in 2021. Matthew was pleased to announce the scholarship award recipients for four scholarships, including the first awarding of the new award in honour of John S. MacDonald. |
Four Vancouver Section Scholarships were awarded at AGM 2022The winners were announced during the Vancouver Section AGM, by Section Chair Matthew Wilder on behalf of the Vancouver Section Scholarship Committee.

Side Channel Analysis: A New Perspective for Vehicle Intrusion Detection SystemDr. Jiajia Liu Organizer: Vehicular Technology Society Tuesday, April 12th, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Online Intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs) have become the mainstream in the development of the automobile industry. Many emerging technologies have been proposed to provide users with a comfortable and convenient driving experience. Jiajia Liu is a full professor (Vice Dean) with the School of Cybersecurity, Northwestern Polytechnical University. He is the director of Shaanxi Provincial Engineering Laboratory of Cyber Security since 2021, and the director of Xi’an Unmanned System Security and Intelligent Communications ISTC Center since 2020. He was a Full Professor at the School of Cyber Engineering, Xidian University, from 2013 to 2018. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers in many high-quality publications, including prestigious IEEE journals and conferences. |
