The Vancouver Section held its annual AGM & Gala on March 30, 2024.

The event was held at the Element Hotel Vancouver Metrotown, and attracted over 70 attendees.

Attendees enjoyed the company of friends and colleagues, as well as a fantastic buffet dinner.

In addition to the traditional reports associated with Section AGM business, the event also included:

  • the announcement of Vancouver Section Awards
  • the announcement of Vancouver Section Scholarship Awards
  • a keynote presentation on Generative AI by Mr. K.P. Rao, of Microsoft

Section Chair Jacqueline Nichols chaired the meeting.

After the reports relating to previous years activities and financial results, the Vancouver Section volunteer awards were presented (please see this article for the announcement).

This was followed by the presentation of the IEEE Vancouver Section Scholarships (see this article for the announcement)
