Vancouver Section Elections – Nominations
Nominations for Section Officer Positions Close on Aug 31st
We are pleased to announce the Vancouver Section Annual Election. Candidate nominations for Section Officer positions are now being accepted for the IEEE Vancouver Section. We are seeking nominations for the following elected position(s).
- Chair, Term Start: 01 Jan 2027, Term End: 31 Dec 2027
- Vice Chair, Term Start: 01 Jan 2027, Term End: 31 Dec 2027
- Secretary, Term Start: 01 Jan 2027, Term End: 31 Dec 2027
- Treasurer, Term Start: 01 Jan 2027, Term End: 31 Dec 2027
The responsibilities of each position are described in the IEEE Member & Geographic Activities (MGA) Operations Manual.
Nominees for these Section Officer positions must be IEEE members of Vancouver Section as of 01 August 2026, and be of Member, Senior Member, Life Member, or Fellow grade.
The nomination deadline is 31 August 2026 11:59 PM America/Los_Angeles.
Please note: the Section election process will result in several candidates being nominated by the Section to stand for the election to these Section Officer positions. Those eligible members who wish to run for one of these positions, but who are not nominated by the Section, may be nominated via the petition process. See the MGA Operations Manual referenced above for additional information concerning petition nominations.
The opening of the petition nominations will be announced soon, to all eligible members. The deadline to place petitions will be 15 October 2026 11:59 PM America/Los_Angeles.
Voting for these officer positions will be conducted, online, after the Section announces its slate of selected nominated candidates, and after the close of petition nominations.
