The IEEE Vancouver Section will hold a celebration of IEEE Day on Oct. 6th, 2026.

IEEE Day is not only celebrated by the Vancouver Section, it is a global event.

Every year, on the first tuesday of October, members and friends of the Vancouver Section gather to celebrate the founding of the IEEE and everything it represents.

IEEE Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the significance of the IEEE, the contributions of past volunteers and look ahead to the future of the IEEE.  It commemorates the IEEE’s founding, when engineers gathered to share their technical ideas in 1884.  This year’s IEEE Day marks the 140th anniversary of the IEEE.

The celebration will include a presentation by a keynote speaker, a group photo, and refreshments.

Members, friends of the Vancouver Section, guests are all welcome.  admission is free, but we ask that you register in advance on the Vtools event page mentioned below.

The Vancouver Section, founded in 1911, also takes the opportunity to celebrate its own anniversary during this event.  This year marks the 115th anniversary of the Vancouver Section.

We look forward to welcoming our members and friends of the Vancouver Section at our special IEEE Day event on October 6th.
