Probabilistic Movement Primitives Control via Control Barrier FunctionsDr. Nicholas Gans, Division Head of Autonomy and Intelligent Systems, University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute. Organizer: Thursday, February 10th, 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Online In this seminar, Dr. Nichilas Gans will present a recent investigation into novel control methodologies that employ probabilistic movement primitives (ProMPs), control Lyapunov Functions (CLFs) and control barrier functions (CBFs). ProMPs are a powerful tool for defining a distribution of robot trajectories via demonstration. Dr. Nicholas Gans is Division Head of Autonomy and Intelligent Systems, the University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute. His research interests are in the fields of robotics, nonlinear and adaptive control, machine vision, and autonomous vehicles. |

Vancouver Section AGM March 30thThe 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IEEE Vancouver Section will be held online on the evening of Wednesday March 30, beginning at 7:00 PM. The meeting will cover several business items such as the auditor’s report, and the announcement of section scholarship award recipients. Due to current COVID concerns and limitations, the AGM will be held online once again. Though we will not be able to enjoy a full in-person “gala” event, we are planning an interesting and interactive event for our members and friends – an outstanding keynote speaker and the opportunity to network with your friends and colleagues! |
